Kilp and Ojaste Triumph at Haanja Marathon, Ränkel Wins Estoloppet

Marko Kilp and Teiloora Ojaste secured victory at the 48th Haanja Marathon, while Ränkel emerged as the winner of Estoloppet.

The 48th Haanja Marathon, which took place despite challenging weather conditions, attracted 517 participants to the ski trails of Haanja Sports and Recreation Centre. In the men's category, Marko Kilp claimed first place, while Teiloora Ojaste dominated the women's race, finishing in two hours, 16 minutes and 30 seconds, which placed her 40th overall. Ojaste expressed her satisfaction with the race conditions, citing the supportive crowd and the course's challenging yet enjoyable layout.

Ojaste's closest competitor, Merilin Jürisaar, finished nearly four and a half minutes behind her, while Susan Sarapuu took third place, trailing by over five minutes. Ojaste mentioned that she was focused on her pace and ran with a group until the final lap when she found herself alone, pushing through to the finish. The win at Haanja adds to her profile as a rising talent in Estonian skiing.

The event not only highlights individual athletic achievements but also emphasizes community participation in sports events like the Haanja Marathon.
