The east coast of Gangwon and Gyeongbuk is very dry...daily temperature difference of 15 to 20 degrees inland

The east coast of Gangwon and parts of Gyeongbuk are experiencing very dry conditions with expected significant temperature differences between day and night.

On Sunday, the east coast of Gangwon and parts of Gyeongbuk are forecasted to be under very dry conditions with ongoing dry weather advisories. The Korea Meteorological Administration warns that the combination of dry air and gusty winds could lead to an increased risk of fire outbreaks, urging residents and visitors to remain cautious.

Midday temperatures are expected to range between 14 to 19 degrees Celsius, which is comparable to or slightly above the seasonal average. However, significant temperature fluctuations between day and night, particularly in the inland areas along with parts of North and South Chungcheong, North Gyeongsang, and Jeju island, may see temperatures dropping close to 0 degrees in the mornings, creating a risk for health complications. Notably, the expected highs for various cities indicate a rather mild day overall with expected highs ranging from 10 to 18 degrees Celsius depending on the region.

The weather outlook indicates partly cloudy skies across the country, with Jeju experiencing generally overcast conditions, where light rains of less than 5mm are anticipated. Additionally, fog is expected to restrict visibility to less than 1 km in Incheon, Gyeonggi, and regions in Chungcheong and Jeolla during the morning hours. Farmers are advised to manage their crops carefully due to potential frost in the inland areas.
