The new direct flight from Natal, Brazil, to Montevideo, Uruguay, officially commenced on Saturday, March 21, providing a convenient travel option for both tourists and locals. Operated by Gol Linhas Aéreas, the flights are scheduled to take place on Saturdays and will run during three designated periods throughout the year: from March 21 to April 4, July 4 to July 25, and December 5 to December 26. This new route aims to strengthen connectivity between the two cities and promote tourism between Brazil and Uruguay.

Departures from Natal to Montevideo are set for 16:20, with arrivals in Uruguay at 21:20, while return flights will leave Montevideo at 22:15, landing back in Natal at 03:35 local time. Additionally, Natal is already connected to other South American destinations with two existing routes to airports in Argentina, namely Ezeiza and Aeroparque Jorge Newberry, further enhancing its status as a travel hub.

To promote this new route, the Potiguar Tourist Promotion Company (Emprotur) plans to conduct promotional activities on March 23 and 24, engaging with Uruguayan travel agencies. The initiative will include a van decorated with promotional material visiting various agencies to discuss tourism opportunities in Rio Grande do Norte, showcasing the region's attractions and driving interest among Uruguayan travelers. This strategic move highlights Natal's growing importance as a destination for international tourists and reflects the increasing interconnectedness of air travel in South America.
