‘Masks, Let's Dance’ Special Exhibition at Duksung Women's University Museum

Duksung Women's University Museum is hosting the special exhibition 'Masks, Let's Dance', showcasing over 60 traditional masks reflecting the diversity of modern Korean traditional masks until December 24, 2026.

Duksung Women's University, located in South Korea, announced that its affiliated Duksung Women's University Museum will host the special exhibition 'Masks, Let's Dance' from March 3 to December 24, 2026. This exhibition will feature around 60 traditional masks from the university's collection, highlighting the diversity of modern Korean traditional masks through various thematic presentations.

On the announcement day, Duksung President Min Jae-hong visited the museum along with other university officials, where they received insights from curator Kim Kyung-seob about the origins and historical significance of Korean traditional masks related to the exhibition. President Min underscored the importance of the exhibition in showcasing the richness and dynamism of Korean culture not only to the university community but also to local residents, emphasizing the university's role in promoting Korea's valuable history.

The masks on display represent significant cultural heritage from various regions of Korea, including traditional masks from important intangible cultural properties such as Yangju Byeolsandae Nori, Tongyeong Ogwangdae, and Bongsan Talchum. Each mask reflects the distinct styles of Southern, Central, and Northern regions of Korea, with notable differences in their craftsmanship. The exhibited items are well-preserved and provide an educational opportunity for both visitors and locals to appreciate the cultural significance of these traditions.
