Duksung Women’s University Achieves 'Excellent' Rating in Teacher Training Evaluation
Duksung Women's University has received commendable ratings in the 6th cycle of teacher training institution evaluations conducted by the Ministry of Education.
Duksung Women's University, led by President Min Jae-hong, has achieved excellent results in the 6th cycle of teacher training institution evaluations organized by the Ministry of Education. The university’s Early Childhood Education department received the highest 'Excellent' rating, while the Teacher Education Department secured an 'Good' rating. The graduate school also received high marks in areas like counseling psychology, further affirming its status as a credible educational institution.
Since establishing a dedicated teaching department in 1970, Duksung Women's University has operated a specialized teacher training program centered around full-time faculty in education. Currently, the university trains secondary school teachers across 14 majors and kindergarten teachers in the Early Childhood Education department. Located in Jongno, Seoul, the education graduate school enhances its competitiveness with excellent accessibility, dynamic alumni activities, and close cooperation with affiliated educational institutions.
In this evaluation, the graduate school is recognized for offering various courses, including nutrition education and retraining programs in early childhood education and counseling psychology. The stable financial support from its foundation has enabled the university to maintain over a 190% return on educational investment. The establishment of systems and organizations related to teacher training and meticulous management of qualifications through dedicated departments have been noted as pivotal for its success, alongside the expansion of educational environments such as micro-teaching rooms and smart classrooms. The university plans to build on this success for continual enhancement of teacher training education.
