Ryu Mizuno Viaduct will be closed this Thursday; see alternative routes

The Ryu Mizuno Viaduct in Suzano will be closed for maintenance from Thursday night to Friday morning.

The Ryu Mizuno Viaduct, which connects Prudente de Moraes Street with Major Pinheiro Fróes in Suzano, Brazil, is set to undergo maintenance requiring a total closure from the night of Thursday, September 19 to the morning of Friday, September 20. This closure, taking place between 10 PM and 2 AM, is intended for the washing of the viaduct and is significant because it serves as the main route for commuters traveling from Poá and Itaquaquecetuba.

Following the initial closure, maintenance will continue the following week with partial closures expected for painting work on the structure. Specifically, a partial closure will occur in the direction of Poá from 8 PM on Monday, September 23 until midnight on Tuesday, September 24. The Suzano City Hall has indicated that traffic agents will be present to assist and guide drivers during these interruptions, which are expected to affect traffic patterns in the area.

Commuters heading towards Poá are advised to use the Leon Feffer Viaduct in Vila Amorim as an alternative route, with additional diversions for those traveling towards Mogi das Cruzes. The local authorities are preparing for increased traffic management challenges during this maintenance period, underscoring the importance of timely communication to the public about road conditions and alternative options.
