Kleinbergs: "Rīgas satiksme" will not raise ticket prices due to rising fuel costs
The Mayor of Riga stated that due to strategic fuel stockpiling, public transport ticket prices will remain unaffected despite rising fuel costs.
The Mayor of Riga, Kleinbergs, announced that the public transport company 'Rīgas satiksme' has strategically stocked up on fuel well in advance, which means that the rising fuel prices will not affect the ticket prices for public transport in the city. Since the start of 2023, the ticket price for a single ride in Riga has been set at 1.50 euros, which allows for transfers to other public transport services within 90 minutes. Additionally, various multi-day tickets have been introduced to cater to different travel needs, including a 24-hour ticket for five euros, a three-day ticket for eight euros, and a five-day ticket for ten euros. The standard monthly ticket costs 30 euros, providing options for both residents and visitors alike.
