Traffic altered during works on the viaduct of Avenida Francisco Porto in Aracaju
The viaduct linking Avenida Francisco Porto and Gonçalo Rollemberg Leite in Aracaju will undergo structural recovery starting Wednesday, significantly impacting traffic.
Beginning this Wednesday, the viaduct connecting Avenue Francisco Porto and Gonçalo Rollemberg Leite in Aracaju will be undergoing structural recovery, which is expected to lead to significant traffic alterations. This was confirmed by the Municipal Transportation and Traffic Superintendency (SMTT). The recovery project, with a budget of R$ 1,709,038.95, aims to enhance both the structural integrity and aesthetic quality of the infrastructure.
The reconstruction will be executed in four stages, starting with the section of the viaduct that provides access to Avenida Francisco Porto, near the Centro de Excelência Professor José Carlos de Sousa, formerly known as Colégio Estadual João Alves Filho. During this time, drivers on Avenue Hermes Fontes heading towards the city center will be able to proceed normally; however, access to the right turn onto Avenida Francisco Porto will be temporarily closed. This temporary closure is likely to cause some frustration among local drivers and may lead to increases in congestion in the surrounding areas.
The SMTT has urged motorists to seek alternative routes during the construction period to mitigate traffic disruptions. This project signifies a significant investment in infrastructure aimed at not only improving traffic flow but also enhancing the overall safety and usability of the viaduct, thereby benefiting the local community in the long run, despite the short-term inconvenience of traffic changes.
