Access on Avenida ACM will be closed after the opening of a new viaduct; understand

Access from Avenida Antônio Carlos Magalhães to Ligação Iguatemi-Paralela will be closed as a new viaduct opens in Salvador.

Access from Avenida Antônio Carlos Magalhães (ACM), a major road in Salvador, Brazil, will be closed on the night of Monday, the 9th, due to the opening of the José Linhares viaduct. This closure affects the entrance to the Ligação Iguatemi-Paralela (LIP) located in front of the Iguatemi Business Center. The Superintendência de Trânsito de Salvador (Transalvador) has announced that vehicles coming from Avenida ACM intending to access the Acesso Norte/BR-324 will need to use the new viaduct for their route.

In addition to the changes in traffic patterns, drivers wishing to reach Avenida Luís Viana Filho, commonly known as Avenida Paralela, will need to take a left exit further down the LIP after the new construction. This adjustment follows the opening of the LIP which was initially established to facilitate the construction of the new viaduct, emphasizing the ongoing urban development and structure improvements in the area.

Transalvador has stated that the closure is intended to enhance road safety by preventing vehicles from crossing paths from two lanes, which could lead to traffic accidents. This strategic change in traffic flow illustrates the city’s commitment to improving transportation infrastructure and the safety of its residents as development continues in Salvador.
