On March 14th, the Pärnu Concert Hall hosted the County Dance Day for Pärnu and Läänemere school dancers, presenting a delightful array of emotional performances on various themes. The event included not only local youth but also performances by the Fine5 Dance Theatre, which provided reimagined versions of previous dances as well as original choreography. The event highlighted the diversity and creativity among young dancers, demonstrating their passion for dance and artistic expression.
This year's jury for the county dance days consists of well-known figures in the dance community, including choreographer, dancer, and musician Igor Lider; choreographer and dance teacher Kristiina Vilipõld; and freelance choreographer and dance teacher Daniela Privis. They will select performances for the final concert, scheduled to take place in May at the Jõhvi Concert Hall, showcasing the top talents from these regional competitions. The involvement of these judges signifies a commitment to excellence and the development of young talent in Estonia.
Daniela Privis described the County Dance Day in Pärnu and Läänemere as "abundant and juicy," noting the variety of performances that conveyed different emotions, effectively functioning as complete productions. Her remarks highlight the significance of dance not just as an art form, but also as a medium for deeper messages and meanings, fostering appreciation for the creativity and efforts of young artists in Estonia.
