Gallery: Valgamaa Dance Day brought together young dancers and a professional dance theater

The Valgamaa Dance Day featured performances by young dancers and professional ensembles, showcasing a range of emotional and energetic dance styles.

On February 7, the Valgamaa Cultural Center hosted the regional dance day, which drew a vibrant crowd and showcased performances from dancers of various ages. The event emphasized the vitality and creativity endemic to the region, with young dancers sharing the stage with professionals under the ensemble 'Zuga Ühendatud Tantsijad,' featuring notable dancers such as Tiina Mölder and Ajjar Ausma. Their performances included both reinterpretations of past dances and original choreography, illustrating the breadth of talent present in Valgamaa.

Raido Bergstein, the chief organizer of the 'Koolitants' program, highlighted Valgamaa's significance in the regional dance calendar, noting that it consistently attracts participation from both young children and more experienced performers. He described the Valgamaa concert as one of the smaller events of their season, rich in variety and infused with an unmistakable local flair that sets it apart from other areas. This event serves not only as a competition but also as a celebration of community and culture in the area.

The jury for the upcoming finals to be held in May at the Jõhvi concert hall will include a mix of choreographers, dancers, and musicians, tasked with selecting the performers to advance. The event reflects a commitment to fostering local talent and bringing together diverse dance styles, which is highly valued in the region's artistic scene.
