Gallery: Exciting ideas and colorful costumes met at the Tallinn Dance Day

The Tallinn Dance Day showcased visually engaging performances by young dancers, featuring reimagined works and original pieces.

The Tallinn Dance Day, held at the Salme Cultural Centre on March 8, delighted audiences with visually captivating performances. Young participants took the stage alongside the ETA Company, which presented theatrical reinterpretations of previous dance pieces featured at the event, as well as original creations that highlighted the talents of the youth.

Kristiina Vilipõllu, a jury member for the regional dance days, pointed out that the performances prompted reflections on the roles of instructors, choreographers, and teachers in igniting dancers' passion and helping them find their appropriate stage energy. She emphasized the narrative power of dance, asking how dancers know what to express on stage and how their movements tell a story.

Jury chair Aneta Varts noted the remarkable young dancers, particularly their stage presence and attitude, which were courageous, free, and expressive even at a young age. She attributed this success to the continuous effort of the instructors and teachers, highlighting the importance of their guidance in fostering such talent and expressiveness in youth dance performances.
