Ärm finishes fifth in sprint in Croatia, Mihkels falls in the final stage

Rait Ärm finished fifth in the sprint during the third stage of the Istrian Spring Tour in Croatia.

Rait Ärm from the Energus Cycling Team achieved a notable fifth place in the sprint finish at the third stage of the Istrian Spring Tour (UCI 2.2) in Croatia, a race that covered a distance of 125 kilometers. The stage concluded with Italian Alessio Magagnotti of Red Bul – BORA – hansgrohe Rookies taking the top position with a time of 2:37.52, followed closely by American Scott McGilli and Belgian Matteo Vanden Wijngaerti.

Ärm reflected on the day's race, emphasizing the outstanding teamwork that allowed him to maintain an ideal position within the leading group for the last ten kilometers. He detailed how the final three kilometers were particularly technical, with multiple roundabouts, during which he and teammate Martinš Plut kept control and placed Ärm in a prime position at the last roundabout.

Despite the strategic placement, Ärm noted that he may have started his sprint too early and exposed himself to the wind for too long, ultimately finishing fifth as several riders surged past him right before the finish line. This performance highlights not only Ärm's capabilities but also underscores the competitive nature of the Istrian Spring Tour, an important event in the cycling calendar.
