Pajur and Ärm finished among the top 30 in Croatia
Estonian cyclists Romet Pajur and Rait Ärm achieved 23rd and 29th places respectively in the first stage of the Istrian Spring Tour in Croatia.
Romet Pajur and Rait Ärm, representing Estonia, competed in the first stage of the Istrian Spring Tour (UCI 2.2) held in Croatia. The stage covered 149.7 km, where Pajur finished 23rd and Ärm secured 29th place. The race was characterized by a fast-paced group finish, dominated by German rider Bruno Kessler from Tudor Pro Cycling Team U23, who took the victory ahead of his teammate Jespet Stiansen and compatriot Moritz Maussi from UAE Team Emirates Gen Z.
After the race, Pajur reflected on the intensity of the competition, noting that many teams aimed to make the race challenging. Despite some successful attempts, the group remained intact due to the efforts of the riders, including his own team members, who were instrumental in maintaining pace in critical moments. Pajur highlighted how the collaborative efforts during the race contributed to their overall performance.
However, he expressed some disappointment regarding his sprint strategy, admitting to making a tactical mistake in the final 500 meters. This error prevented him from launching a proper sprint, underscoring the importance of precise decision-making in competitive cycling.
