Recent reports indicate that there have been no illegal migrants recorded trying to cross the border between Lithuania and Belarus. On the same day, Latvian border guards reported turning back no migrants, and Polish officials noted that 13 individuals were denied entry after attempting to cross illegally the previous day. This situation follows a pattern of migration attempts stemming from Belarus, which has seen a notable decline lately. Lithuania has turned away a total of 37 illegal migrants this year. The last incident where migrants were not allowed to enter Lithuania occurred on February 26. In contrast, last year saw over 1,600 attempts to illegally enter the country from Belarus, showcasing a significant drop in attempts compared to the previous two years. The marked decrease in crossings can be attributed to various factors, including enhanced border security measures.
