The annual 'Boņuks' awards ceremony is a significant event in the Latgalian cultural calendar, showcasing the achievements within the region's cultural life. As Daira Lāce, producer of the 'Gora' event, noted, the ceremony symbolizes continual growth and serves as a challenge each year to deliver exciting experiences to its attendees. This year, 30 nominees have been selected, representing the best in Latgalian culture. Among the distinguished nominees are six projects from Latvijas Sabiedriskais Medijs, reflecting the media's strong presence and commitment to promoting Latgalian culture. Notable nominations include 15 Latgalian audio fairy tales recorded by Latvijas Radio and performed by various artists, including Kristīne Veinšteina and Kristaps Rasims. Also featured is the television program 'Neatklātā Latgale,' which explores the region with actress Inga Misāne-Grasberga and journalist Keita Rožāne, showcasing the depth of Latgale's cultural landscape. In addition to these, the documentary 'Ērģeles naktī. Iveta Apkalna,' the 'LSM Bērnistaba' program in Latgalian, the podcast 'Es izvēlos dzīvi laukos,' and the radio adaptation of the novel 'Myura kolns' have also received nominations. These projects not only highlight the creativity and talent within the region but also aim to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of Latgalian culture among broader audiences.
