Among the nominees for the "Boņuks" award are also five projects from Latvian Public Media

The Boņuks cultural awards ceremony is a key event in Latgalian cultural life, highlighting nominees including five projects from Latvian Public Media.

The presentation of the Latgalian cultural annual award "Boņuks" is a significant event in the cultural life of Latgale, aiming to elevate the standards of regional culture. Daira Lāce, an event producer for 'Gora', shared that the event symbolizes a continuous upward trajectory for them, presenting a yearly challenge to innovate and surprise their audience.

A jury has shortlisted 30 of the best and most outstanding nominees for this year’s award. Among them, five notable projects from Latvian Public Media are highlighted, including the 15 Latgalian audio tales recorded by actresses and actors such as Kristīne Veinšteina and Kristaps Rasims, as well as performers from the group 'Rupuči'. Additionally, there is the Latvian television program "Neatklātā Latgale", which is exploring the region anew with journalist Keita Rožāne and the actress Inga Misāne-Grasberga. Other nominated projects include "LSM Bērnistaba" in Latgalian, the podcast "Es izvēlos dzīvi laukos", and the radio adaptation of the novel "Myura kolns".

The event not only showcases the talent within the Latgalian community but also strengthens the cultural narrative of the region as a whole, promoting local creators and their contributions to the broader Latvian culture.
