The 'Boņuks' awards, celebrating the best in Latgalian culture, have nominated five projects from Latvian Public Media, highlighting the cultural significance of this annual event.

The presentation of the 'Boņuks' award for Latgalian culture represents a significant event in the cultural life of Latgale. According to Daira Lāce, the producer of the event from the 'Gora' organization, it provides a platform for the Latgale embassy to elevate its presence and engage audiences at a higher level. Lāce expressed the ongoing challenge the event faces to surprise and delight attendees each year.

This year, the jury has selected 30 of the most outstanding nominees, among which are five projects from the Latvian Public Media. These include 15 Latgalian audiobooks voiced by actress Kristīne Veinšteina and actor Kristaps Rasims, along with members of the music group 'Rupuči', Ernests and Terēze Rasimi. Furthermore, the nominee list features the Latvian television program 'Neatklātā Latgale', which journalist Keita Rožāne hosted, journeying into the region with Latgalian actress Inga Misāne-Grasberga to explore its cultural heritage further.

Other nominated projects are 'LSM Bērnistaba' in Latgalian, the podcast 'Es izvēlos dzīvi laukos', and a radio dramatization of the novel 'Myura kolns'. The recognition of these diverse projects illustrates the rich tapestry of Latgalian culture and underlines the importance of local media initiatives in preserving and promoting cultural heritage.
