INFOGRAPHICS: Fuel prices in the capitals of the Baltic states continue to rise - the sharpest increase in Riga

Fuel prices in the Baltic capitals are on the rise, with Riga experiencing the largest increases last week.

Last week, fuel prices in the capitals of the Baltic states continued to increase, with the most significant rise noted in Riga, according to data compiled by the LETA agency. By the end of the week, Tallinn recorded the highest price for gasoline, followed by Riga and Vilnius. In terms of diesel fuel, Vilnius had the highest price, while Tallinn offered the lowest at the week's end.

In Riga, at a 'Circle K' gas station on Krasta Street, the price for 95-octane gasoline rose by 4.9% compared to the previous week, reaching 1.714 euros per liter on Friday. Diesel fuel saw a more drastic increase, soaring by 15.9% over the week and priced at 1.964 euros per liter on Friday. The rise in prices highlights the ongoing trend of increasing fuel costs across the region, adding pressure on consumers in Latvia's capital.

In comparison, in Vilnius, at a 'Circle K' station on Savanoriu Avenue, 95-octane gasoline sold for 1.687 euros per liter, up 4.5% from a week earlier, while diesel prices increased by 7.6%, reaching 1.994 euros per liter. Meanwhile, in Tallinn, the price for 95-octane gasoline rose by 6.8% to 1.739 euros per liter during the week. These rising fuel prices reflect broader economic challenges and could have implications for transport costs and consumer spending in the Baltic region.
