A significant police operation in Icoaraci, a district of Belém, led to the seizure of approximately 930 packets of a substance resembling base paste cocaine. This operation was initiated early on Friday morning following reports regarding the possible existence of camps used for drug production and distribution in a forested area of the neighborhood. The Civil Police, specifically units from the Special Police Operations Battalion (Bope), coordinated the efforts to track down the camps based on the intelligence gathered from the community.

During the search operations, law enforcement discovered several makeshift camps in the specified area. Alongside the confiscated drugs, officers also found various plastic bags likely intended for drug packaging purposes. Additionally, they recovered four packages of barrilha, a chemical compound often applied in the drug manufacturing process, further emphasizing the scale of illicit activities occurring in the region.

This operation is a part of ongoing efforts by Brazilian authorities to combat drug trafficking, which poses significant social challenges.
