In Madhya Pradesh's Dhar, criminals impersonating income tax officers conducted a fake raid on a contractor's home, stealing large amounts of gold and cash.
On Friday morning, a brazen incident occurred in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, where criminals executed a fake income tax raid on a contractor's home, reminiscent of a movie plot. The assailants, who arrived in an unmarked Scorpio, posed as income tax officers and entered the premises under the pretext of searching for black money. They managed to steal approximately 50 tola of gold, four lakh rupees in cash, and a mobile phone before fleeing the scene.
The incident reportedly took place in the Brahmin Mohalla of the Bag area. The culprits included two individuals dressed in khaki uniforms, while three others wore civilian clothes. They knocked on the door and claimed to be from the income tax department, citing a complaint related to black money as the reason for their search. Victim Krishna Malviya recounted that the criminals began their search immediately upon entering the house and even took keys from the family members, rummaging through almirahs and other personal belongings while confining the family to a single room.
This shocking occurrence highlights the growing issue of impersonation and fraud stretching across India, posing serious challenges to the security of ordinary citizens. Authorities now face the task of investigating this incident and apprehending those responsible for this audacious crime, which not only involved theft but also psychological manipulation and intimidation of the victims.
