Create a group portrait! A daily task for little researchers
A creative project inviting children to submit their artwork with a chance to win a book, while exploring various educational themes throughout March.
A new initiative by LSM encourages children to engage creatively through daily tasks that focus on art and education. Each day in March, kids are invited to explore a theme related to museums, art history, and creative expression, and submit photos of their work for publication in a special children and parents section on the website. Ten selected authors will also receive a book as a prize, promoting artistic engagement among the youth.
The project, developed in collaboration with the Latvian National Museum of Art (LNMM), aims to foster creativity and collaboration between children and their families. Participants are encouraged to reflect on concepts such as teamwork and identity through the activity of creating a group portrait. This exercise can help children not only in expressing their artistic abilities but also in enhancing their social skills by thinking about the people they would like to paint together.
Throughout the month of March, LSM will feature diverse and educational content aimed at both children and adults, including discussions around art pieces, historical insights about museums, and various cultural themes. This initiative provides an excellent platform for young artists, encouraging them to share their unique perspectives and work in a community setting, ultimately nurturing a love for art and learning.
