Creating an art book and exploring the museum library!

A creative project encourages submissions from participants to share ideas about art concepts and experiences in a museum setting, culminating in an art book and a prize for selected contributors.

A new initiative invites individuals, particularly families, to engage with the Latvijas Nacionālā mākslas muzeja (National Museum of Art of Latvia) library by contributing creative ideas and works. Participants are encouraged to submit photos of their works to be featured on LSM.lv's parent and child section, enhancing community involvement in the arts. Additionally, a prize will be awarded to ten randomly chosen contributors who will receive the 'Activity Book for the Whole Year'.

Throughout March, the project aims to publish one informative and creative idea daily related to various themes such as the museum building, artists, art history, paintings, sculptures, costumes, exhibitions, professions, technologies, and more. This approach not only fosters artistic appreciation among children and adults but also enriches the connection to the museum’s resources, which currently holds approximately 29,000 books. This vast collection includes significant titles on the history of Latvian and foreign art, monographs, exhibition catalogs, and art encyclopedias.

This collaboration with the LNMM aims to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Latvia while also educating attendees about the museum's offerings and the importance of creativity in understanding art. By incorporating various activities like contests and birthday celebrations, the project seeks to make art more accessible and engaging for families, ultimately promoting a broader appreciation for the arts within the community.
