Taubaté City Hall expands free right turn system in the city; see locations
Taubaté City Hall has expanded the free right turn system at several intersections to improve traffic flow.
The City Hall of Taubaté has announced an expansion of the free right turn system at various intersections across the city, effective from November 9. This initiative includes four additional streets that will now allow drivers to make right turns without stopping at designated traffic lights, aimed at enhancing traffic flow and reducing congestion. The intersections affected by this change are crucial spots where traffic is often bottlenecked, particularly during peak hours.
The streets included in this expansion are Rua Silva Jardim at the intersection with Avenida Tiradentes, Avenida Nove de Julho for accessing the Visconde de Tremembé tunnel, Avenida Assis Chateaubriand at the intersection with Avenida Independência towards the city center, and another spot on Avenida Independência at Avenida Assis Chateaubriand towards the Barreiro neighborhood. The City Hall emphasized that this initiative is part of a broader approach to urban mobility aimed at making the city's traffic management more efficient.
This measure reflects the city's commitment to improving infrastructure and responding to the transportation needs of its residents. By allowing free right turns at these busy intersections, city officials hope to decrease wait times at traffic signals and facilitate smoother transit for commuters. Local authorities believe that this change could significantly enhance daily travel experiences and potentially lead to a decrease in traffic-related issues in Taubaté over time.
