City Hall provides digital payment slips for IPTU and garbage tax

The City of Taubaté is offering a digital version of the IPTU and garbage collection tax, with a 10% discount for early payment.

The City of Taubaté has launched a virtual version of its property tax (IPTU) and garbage collection fee for 2026, starting February 20. Residents can access and download their payment slips from the municipal website, and those who pay the full amount before March 10 will receive a 10% discount. Printed notices are scheduled to begin distribution in the second half of February.

Taxpayers can opt to pay their IPTU and garbage fees in up to ten monthly installments, with payment due on the 10th of each month from March through December. This initiative aims to make tax payments more convenient by providing the option to manage payments online. Additionally, there is another incentive for those who clear their dues by April 10, where they will receive a 5% discount on the total amount.

Approximately 140,000 payment notices are being issued for the year 2026. This change aligns with recently approved legislation that updated the city's tax assessment values through the new General Plant, fostering a more efficient way for residents to fulfill their tax obligations.
