Taubaté City Hall opens new notice to choose new administration for HMUT, in Taubaté

Taubaté City Hall has issued a new notice to select an organization to manage the Municipal University Hospital of Taubaté, with an estimated budget of R$ 132 million for the first year.

The City Hall of Taubaté has initiated a new bidding process to select a Social Organization (OSS) tasked with managing and operating the Municipal University Hospital of Taubaté (HMUT). This announcement comes after a previous notice published in December was suspended due to the need for technical adjustments in hospital management. The city is looking to ensure effective management and operation of the hospital, which serves a crucial role in the local healthcare system.

The new bidding process sets an estimated budget of R$ 132 million to cover costs and operational management for the first 12 months. This figure translates to approximately R$ 11 million per month, marking a significant 17% increase compared to the current contract. The increased investment reflects the city's commitment to enhancing healthcare services by appointing an organization capable of meeting necessary operational standards and improving patient care at the hospital.

Organizations interested in managing the HMUT are required to submit their qualification documents and work plans by April 24, 2026. The contract awarded will have the potential for successive renewals, contingent upon the parties' interest and favorable recommendations from the Evaluation Committee. This process symbolizes a strategic move by Taubaté's municipal administration to stabilize and elevate the quality of healthcare services within the community, ensuring better health outcomes for residents.
