The Jigawa State Police Command has provided food items to 100 widows of deceased officers as part of a humanitarian outreach for International Women’s Day.
In an act of compassion, the Jigawa State Police Command organized a humanitarian outreach program to honor International Women’s Day by distributing food items to 100 widows of deceased police officers. This initiative took place at the State Headquarters and was aimed at recognizing the sacrifices and contributions of women within the police force and their families. The event underscored the essential roles women play as officers, mothers, and caregivers, reinforcing the importance of their resilience in the community.
Commissioner of Police, CP Dahiru Muhammad, was represented by DCP Tijjani Murtala, who expressed the significance of acknowledging the plight of women, particularly those who have lost their husbands in the line of duty. Murtala emphasized that the initiative reflects the command’s commitment to honoring fallen officers and their families. By providing food supplies, the police sought to bring comfort and support to the bereaved families, highlighting the organization’s dedication to social responsibility.
The gesture was more than just a distribution of food items; it was a heartfelt acknowledgment of the sacrifices made by the officers' families. DCP Murtala personally distributed the gifts, hoping to bring joy to the widows, who are often overlooked during such commemorations. The outreach serves as a reminder of the importance of community support and solidarity, particularly during celebrations meant to honor women, enabling the police force to connect positively with the community they serve and protect.
