The Sokoto State Police Command has recently distributed ₦29.6 million in life insurance benefits to the families of officers who died or were severely injured in the line of duty. This distribution, amounting to ₦29,638,584.78, was made to ten beneficiaries during a ceremony attended by high-ranking police officials, underscoring the police force's commitment to supporting their personnel's families who have made sacrifices for public safety.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance and Administration, Umar Sokoto, presented the funds, emphasizing that this initiative reflects the Nigeria Police Force’s dedication to the welfare of its members and their dependents. This Group Life Assurance Scheme is especially important as it aims to alleviate the significant economic burden that can arise from such tragic losses, ensuring that the families receive necessary support during difficult times.

Umar Sokoto encouraged the recipients to use the funds wisely, suggesting that they invest in projects that will ensure long-term financial stability.
