The 2026 list of Finland's 50 Best Restaurants has been announced, with Ravintola Palace in Helsinki securing the top spot for the seventh consecutive year. The restaurant, which boasts two Michelin stars, has become a staple in the culinary scene, outperforming other notable establishments including BasBas and Grön, which took the second and third positions respectively, both also located in Helsinki. The list highlights the vibrant restaurant culture in the city and showcases the quality of dining available in Finland's capital.
The voting for this prestigious list was conducted by professionals from the restaurant, food, and tourism industries, organized by the Viisi Tähteä media since 2004. This year's rankings also revealed that eight restaurants made their debut on the list, indicating a dynamic food scene with new talent and innovations emerging. Other contenders in the top ten include Jason, Kaskis from Turku, and Kajo from Tampere, showcasing a mix of culinary expertise from various regions.
In addition to the top restaurant rankings, the event also recognized various professionals and establishments across different categories. One notable award, the "Professional of the Professionals" recognition, was awarded to Jari Vesivalo from Helsinki’s Messukeskus, reflecting the high caliber of talent contributing to Finland’s flourishing culinary landscape.
