President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria has instructed the immediate deployment of 100,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversion kits in response to the escalating costs of petrol and diesel that have been impacting the Nigerian populace. This initiative comes as a direct reaction to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, which has led to increased global petroleum prices, thus raising transportation costs domestically. The Executive Chairman of the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas, Ismaeel Ahmed, announced this development after a meeting with President Tinubu at the State House in Abuja.

During the meeting, Ahmed emphasized that the President is closely monitoring the implications of the Middle Eastern conflict on Nigeria's fuel prices. Tinubu's directive reflects his administration's commitment to providing solutions to the economic challenges faced by Nigerians, particularly regarding transportation costs.
