‘Ium Garden’ of 780㎡ in Sejong Arboretum... Available for public rental until June
The National Sejong Arboretum has opened the outdoor lawn garden for public rental until June as part of a pilot project called 'Everyone’s Garden, Ium ON', allowing events like exhibitions and festivals.
The National Sejong Arboretum in South Korea has announced that its outdoor lawn area, known as the 'Ium Garden', will be made available for public rental as part of a pilot initiative called 'Everyone’s Garden, Ium ON'. This program aims to promote the use of public green spaces for various community events, and it is accessible to everyone regardless of nationality or residency. The rental period extends until June, allowing individuals and groups to host a range of activities such as exhibitions, performances, and festivals in this large garden area.
The Ium Garden spans 780 square meters and is equipped with a stage and a shelter for use during events. Rentals are available for a minimum of two hours during the arboretum's operating hours of 9 AM to 6 PM, with fees set at 200,000 KRW for the first 100 guests, who would enjoy a subsidized entrance fee. However, additional guests will need to purchase separate entrance tickets. Importantly, the use of the garden is restricted from hosting events with religious, political, or commercial purposes, ensuring that the space remains a neutral ground for community gatherings.
Users are allowed to bring food into the garden, provided no fire is used, and alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited. Additionally, visitors can borrow chairs and mats at no extra cost from the arboretum to facilitate their events. More detailed information and updates can be found on the official website of the National Sejong Arboretum, which serves as a point of contact for potential users wanting to engage with this new initiative.
