How often do Finns dye their hair – the number might surprise you
A recent survey reveals that nearly 60% of Finns dye their hair every 2-3 months, while over 40% do not dye their hair at all anymore.
A survey conducted by Iltalehti sought to understand the hair dyeing habits of Finnish readers, gathering responses from 3,214 participants. The results indicate that around 60% of respondents regularly dye their hair, with the majority choosing to do so every 2-3 months. This suggests a significant portion of the population actively engages in hair coloring as a part of their grooming routine.
The survey also revealed that over 40% of the respondents do not dye their hair at all currently, indicating a shift in hair care preferences among Finns. Many of this group had previously dyed their hair but have since stopped, pointing to a possible trend in natural hair care or other changes in personal grooming habits. Additionally, a small minority, approximately 1.5%, reported using only temporary hair tints that wash out in a few washes.
These findings not only shed light on the personal grooming trends among Finns but also reflect broader cultural attitudes towards hair care and beauty standards within Finnish society. As hair dyeing becomes less common for some, it raises questions about the influence of natural beauty trends and the ongoing conversation about personal expression through hair color.
