This is something many won't admit: 55% of Finns do something 'naughty' in the shower
A survey indicates that 55% of Finns have urinated in the shower at least once, with men doing so more frequently than women.
A recent survey demonstrated that a surprising 55% of Finns admit to urinating in the shower at least once, reflecting a behavior that is often viewed as taboo. The study, conducted by Koti Puhtaaksi Oy, reveals that men's urinary habits in the shower surpass those of women, with 58% of men confessing to the act, compared to 51% of women. Interestingly, 45% of respondents claimed they have never engaged in this behavior, highlighting a significant division in the acceptance of this act among the populace.
The survey also points out demographic trends, noting that younger respondents, particularly those aged 18-24, are more likely to admit to urinating in the shower, with 28% indicating they do so frequently. This trend continues among the 25-34 age group, where 24% admitted to the behavior. The findings suggest a generational gap in attitudes toward this topic, possibly reflecting broader cultural informalities around cleanliness and privacy in personal hygiene practices.
Reetta Alastalo, the CEO of Koti Puhtaaksi Oy, added a humorous yet insightful remark about the act, wondering if people consciously think about whether a cleaner would notice. She reassured that this behavior is not typically frowned upon within the cleaning industry, perhaps indicating a shift in more open attitudes towards such personal habits. This revelation not only sheds light on Finnish bathroom habits but also opens the door to discussions about societal norms regarding privacy and cleanliness.
