Pärnu Boy Crowned Baltic Champion Sets Second Best Result in Estonia's History

A young athlete from Pärnu achieved the second-best result in Estonia's history at the Baltic Championships in athletics, contributing to the national team's overall victory.

At the Baltic Combined Events Championships held in Tallinn, the Estonian youth athletics team secured first place in the team standings. The total scores from all age categories, including U16, U18, and U20, were calculated, resulting in Estonia collecting an impressive 75,741 points for the win, followed by Latvia with 71,228 and Lithuania with 61,653. Each age class was represented by four boys and four girls, showcasing a balanced team effort. Among the U16 athletes, three competitors from Pärnu stood out, particularly Patrick Tomasson, who was crowned the Baltic champion after an outstanding performance. Under the guidance of coach Rauno Kirschbaum, Tomasson amassed a remarkable 4,704 points in the seven-event competition, surpassing his closest rivals by over 300 points. His victory not only marked a significant achievement but also established a personal best and noted as the second-best result in Estonia's U16 history. Tomasson set five personal records during the events, including times and distances in various disciplines, and highlighted his potential as a future star in Estonian athletics. His performance draws attention to the promising youthful talent in Estonia's sports landscape as they continue to make their mark on the regional stage.
