Alberto Craveiro Avenue will have a total closure in both directions on Sunday

Alberto Craveiro Avenue in Fortaleza will be fully closed in both directions on Sunday, October 22, for electrical network relocation as part of the VLT Aeroporto-Castelão project.

Alberto Craveiro Avenue, located in the Dias Macêdo neighborhood of Fortaleza, will experience a total closure in both directions this Sunday, October 22, from 10 AM to 3 PM. This closure is part of the ongoing construction of the VLT (Light Rail Vehicle) line connecting the Fortaleza International Airport to the Castelão Arena. The closure is subject to change based on weather conditions, indicating an awareness of how external factors can impact construction schedules.

During this period, work will focus on the relocation of the electrical network, a task managed by Enel Ceará. The construction is critical as it progresses the elevated section of the VLT line, which is intended to improve transport links between key points in the city, namely the airport and the sports arena. The area around the viaduct at Avenida Carlos Jereissati will also be affected, as this access has already been closed due to earlier interventions that were necessary for the VLT project.

The Seinfra (Secretariat of Infrastructure of Ceará) states that this interruption is essential for the progression of the VLT project, demonstrating the government's commitment to enhancing urban transport infrastructure. Additionally, this construction aims to facilitate better connectivity for residents and visitors, especially with major events taking place at the Arena Castelão. Information on detours will be provided to minimize disruption to traffic in the busy area of Fortaleza during the closure.
