In two years, Via Araucária promotes major transformations on highways
Via Araucária has undertaken significant projects over the past two years to modernize the infrastructure of key highways in Paraná, Brazil.
Over the past two years, Via Araucária has been responsible for managing 473 kilometers of federal and state highways in the state of Paraná, which play a vital role in connecting the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba with the Central-South and Campos Gerais areas. This stretch includes important municipalities for the state's economy such as Curitiba, Araucária, Campo Largo, Ponta Grossa, Palmeira, and Irati. Since February 2024, the concession landscape has shifted, with projects moving from planning to active construction sites, engaging numerous workers to enhance the highway infrastructure.
Currently, there are five expansion projects underway that are aimed at significantly improving road capacity and safety. These include the duplication of PR-418 (North Contour), the duplication of PR-423, the implementation of marginal roads on the South Contour (BR-376), and the initiation of works to duplicate BR-277 in Palmeira and Irati, which is one of the main logistical corridors in Brazil. These developments are crucial as they will not only alleviate traffic congestion but also boost regional economic links.
The ongoing enhancements and expansions of the roadways are set to modernize transportation in a fundamental region for Paraná, indicating a positive economic outlook and improved connectivity. The commitment by Via Araucária to invest in infrastructure reflects a strategic approach to support the state’s growth, facilitating better movement for goods and people alike, which is essential for fostering economic development in the area.
