A vintage bus manufactured in 1982, which served as the transportation for the players of the América-SP football team from 2008 to 2017, has been sold and is set to be restored. The bus gained attention on social media two weeks ago when it was spotted being towed away from the Estádio Benedito Teixeira, where it had remained unused for the last nine years. Initially, many believed the bus was headed for scrap, leading to sadness among fans who remembered its historical significance.

The new owner, Leonardo Capatto, a businessman from Artur Nogueira, aims to pay tribute to his father, who had a similar bus model. Capatto explains that his inspiration stems from his childhood experiences around buses, particularly one that his father drove. He has been on a quest to find and restore the bus as a tribute since many similar models from his family's past have unfortunately been dismantled over time.

This restoration project not only revives a piece of sports history but also symbolizes the personal connection Capatto has to the vehicle and the memories associated with it. As the bus embarks on this new chapter, it will serve as a reminder of local sports heritage and the sentimental value that these vehicles hold for those who cherish their history.
