A bus transporting a volleyball team was involved in a traffic accident with a car on the SP-225, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.
On Saturday afternoon, a traffic accident occurred on the SP-225 highway near Bauru, Brazil, involving a bus carrying a volleyball team. The incident took place at km 227,419 when a car collided with the rear of the bus after it braked suddenly. At the time of the accident, there were 19 passengers on board the bus, all members of a volleyball team returning home after a match in Campinas. Thankfully, despite the collision, there were no reported injuries among the passengers or the driver.
According to the São Paulo State Transport Regulatory Agency (Artesp), the accident necessitated the partial closure of lane 2 of the highway from 5:06 PM to 6:25 PM; however, it did not lead to any traffic congestion. Authorities ensured the safe clearing of the vehicles involved, and the bus was able to continue its journey shortly after being inspected and cleared by the Military Highway Police.
This incident highlights the importance of road safety, especially when transporting teams for events. The quick response from law enforcement helped mitigate the situation without further complications. While the accident could have resulted in serious consequences, the fortunate outcome with no injuries will allow the team to reflect on their game rather than on an unfortunate incident on the road.
