Oyo pledges support for federal schools
The Oyo State Ministry of Education has committed to collaborate with Federal Government-owned schools to improve education and student safety.
The Oyo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has announced its readiness to collaborate with all Federal Government-owned schools in the state. During a recent visit by the Commandant of Police Secondary School, Igboora, CSP Ogunlade Fisayo, the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Olusegun Olayiwola, highlighted the importance of this collaboration in strengthening educational standards and enhancing security for students in public schools. He emphasized that the Ministry plays a crucial role as the coordinating body for educational development in Oyo State.
Olayiwola noted that, while many schools are federally owned, a significant number of students attending these institutions are residents of Oyo State. This demographic link makes collaboration necessary to ensure that educational facilities meet local needs and standards for both safety and academic excellence. The partnership aims to create an environment where students can thrive academically while being assured of their security within the school system.
The initiative reflects a broader trend towards cooperation between state and federal educational institutions, underscoring the state government's commitment to improving the educational landscape. By fostering collaboration among schools, Oyo State hopes to enhance learning outcomes and provide a safer educational environment, an essential factor for parents and guardians when choosing schools for their children.
