Oyo distributes textbooks, school bags, sandals to primary, secondary students
The Oyo State government has commenced the distribution of educational materials to public schools as part of the 2024 intervention program.
The Oyo State government, through the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB), has launched the 2024 FGN-UBEC/SUBEB Intervention programme in Ibadan aimed at improving educational resources for students in public primary and junior secondary schools. This initiative marks a critical step towards providing essential learning materials, including core subject textbooks and instructional aids, to support the academic growth of students in the state.
During the launch, OYOSUBEB Chairman Dr. Nureni Adeniran highlighted the extensive distribution plan which includes over 19,000 copies of primary mathematics books, more than 15,000 primary English books, and various other educational materials. This large-scale initiative is designed not only to supply students with necessary academic resources but also to enhance the overall quality of education in Oyo State, ensuring that all children have access to essential learning tools.
The program reflects the governmentβs commitment to bolstering educational standards in Oyo State and ensuring that students are equipped with the necessary resources to succeed in their academic pursuits. With thousands of copies of books and learning materials distributed, this intervention represents a significant investment in the future of education in the region, aiming to create a more equitable learning environment for all students.
