Four young people arrested and teenager apprehended for drug trafficking in Barra do Piraí
Four young men were arrested and a teenager was apprehended in Barra do Piraí, Brazil, for drug trafficking activities.
In Barra do Piraí, Rio de Janeiro, four young men aged 19, 21, and 23 were arrested along with a 16-year-old teenager who was apprehended for drug trafficking on Thursday, the 5th. Police had received reports of individuals selling drugs in the area, specifically on Rua Prefeito Heitor Faviere in the Bairro Química. The suspects allegedly sat on the street and would retrieve the drugs from a nearby wooded area upon the arrival of customers.
According to police, they acted on information suggesting that a young man was also managing the operation alongside the arrested individuals. When officers arrived, they successfully located two young men who were in the process of selling drugs, leading them to discover three additional suspects. Following a thorough search of the area where the drugs were hidden, police uncovered a bag containing various drugs, including several packets of cocaine and numerous cell phones connected to the illicit activity.
The increasing frequency of drug-related crimes in urban areas like Barra do Piraí highlights the ongoing challenges law enforcement faces in combating drug trafficking.
