Man arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking in Barra do Piraí

A 28-year-old man was arrested for suspected drug trafficking in Barra do Piraí, a municipality in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The arrest took place on Tuesday afternoon after the police received an anonymous report regarding drug sales in the bairro Oficinas Velhas. Upon arrival, officers from the Polícia Militar discovered the suspect selling drugs and were able to apprehend him during the operation.
The police reported that during the arrest, one of the buyers identified the suspect, which helped substantiate the officers' suspicion. A search of the area revealed a stash of marijuana and hashish buried near a bamboo grove, alongside cash amounting to R$ 170 and two mobile phones. The discovery of these items indicated that the suspect was actively engaged in drug distribution within the community.
Following the arrest, the suspect was taken to the local police station in Barra do Piraí, where the seized items were also presented as evidence. He remains in custody and is awaiting further legal proceedings.
