Chung-Ang University Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Concludes 'AI x Virtual Convergence Film Production' International Education Program
Chung-Ang University's international program 'Beyond the Screen: AI x Virtual Convergence Film Production' successfully concluded, significantly expanding its participant base compared to the previous year.
Chung-Ang University announced the successful completion of its international short-term intensive education program titled 'Beyond the Screen: AI x Virtual Convergence Film Production.' This program was held at the Graduate School of Advanced Imaging, in collaboration with various academic partners, including BK21 and the Virtual Convergence College. The program kicked off with an opening ceremony on January 26, and after about three weeks of participation, it culminated in a completion ceremony on February 12 where outstanding AI film projects produced during the course were awarded.
The program, which saw a substantial increase in participants this year, began last summer with 30 students from Zhejiang University in China and expanded to include students from multiple institutions, such as Ningbo Nottingham University and Nanjing University of the Arts. With over 70 student participants and 10 faculty members from Tianjin University, the program's scale increased by more than 2.5 times compared to its inaugural year, establishing itself as a regular global education brand during Chung-Ang University's summer and winter breaks.
Throughout the program, notable lectures were delivered, including a keynote on 'The Power of K-Content' by Professor Fan Xiaoqing from Zhejiang University. The faculty, comprising 14 key professors and industry professionals from Chung-Ang University, thoroughly guided participants through the integration of AI and film arts. Additionally, strategic MOUs were signed with MBC C&I and Chinese AI unicorn company MiniMax during the program, laying the groundwork for robust global industry-academic cooperation in the future. Huang Seon-sook from MBC C&I highlighted the partnership's potential to nurture future talents for the content industry, underscoring the program's significance and impact on educational and industry collaboration.
