Heat Sweeps Across Finland – +10 May Be Broken Here
Finland is set to experience unseasonably warm weather with temperatures potentially exceeding 10 degrees Celsius in southwestern regions.
The Finnish Meteorological Institute has forecast unseasonably warm weather across the country, especially in southwestern Finland, where temperatures could reach close to 10 degrees Celsius. Meteorologist Helena Laakso indicated that while 10 degrees is possible, a more likely expectation is temperatures around 7 to 8 degrees. This warm spell extends beyond just the southern areas as other parts of Finland will also see a rise in temperatures leading into the weekend, including Lapland.
As the week progresses, the weather is generally expected to be fair across Finland, although the eastern border may remain close to freezing until later in the week. Laakso noted that by Friday, Western Lapland may also witness temperatures of around 5 degrees Celsius. The weekend outlook shows particularly warm weather for Western Lapland, marking a significant shift towards spring-like conditions across the country.
However, while much of Finland is expected to enjoy calm weather, there may be some light snow and rain in Lapland. The following week could bring rain areas to Southern Finland, but currently, there are no clear signs of a significant cold snap returning any time soon, allowing for a prolonged period of warmer weather to be enjoyed by Finns.
