Dramatic forecast for the weekend: Up to +10

A significant warm-up is expected across Finland this weekend, with temperatures potentially reaching +10 degrees Celsius in some areas.

This weekend, Finland is poised for a notable rise in temperatures, as predictions indicate daytime highs reaching into the positive range. According to meteorologist Joanna Rinne from Foreca, the southern and central regions of the country will experience temperatures above freezing from Friday onwards. The warm front may even extend into the northern parts, bringing milder conditions to Lapland as well.

The forecast suggests that a fรถhn wind could contribute to warm temperatures, with expectations of exceeding 5 degrees Celsius across much of the country, particularly in the southwestern inland areas and around the Tornionjoki valley. There is even a possibility that local readings could approach 10 degrees Celsius, reflecting a significant change as part of the ongoing transition towards spring.

While daytime temperatures rise, nighttime lows will still drop below zero in many areas, although parts of southern Finland could experience nights that remain above freezing. The overall warming trend is attributed to shifting weather patterns, indicating an early onset of spring-like conditions for both residents and meteorologists to observe in the coming days.
