Emergency Fire in a Factory Addressed in Cesis Region

A significant fire in a factory in the Cesis region of Latvia was successfully extinguished by local firefighters on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, an emergency fire at a production facility in the Cesis region of Latvia was reported and subsequently put out by the State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD). The fire was noted to have broken out at approximately 5:30 PM in a single-story production building in the Priekuli parish, where sawdust and sawdust dust caught fire in two cyclones, covering an area of about 30 square meters, along with 15 square meters of adjacent roof structures. Firefighting efforts involved teams from Cesis, Smiltene, and Valmiera, who managed to extinguish the elevated danger fire by 7:54 PM.

In addition to the factory fire, firefighters have been busy responding to various other incidents over the previous 24 hours. The VUGD indicated that they also attended to a front loader fire, a sauna, wires and soot in the chimney of a residential building, a waste bin, a food heating appliance, unattended food that was left to prepare, and light vehicles. This highlights the workload faced by firefighters in the region, as they dealt with multiple emergency calls during this period.

From Wednesday morning at 6:30 AM to Thursday morning at the same time, the VUGD managed a total of 52 emergency calls, which included 13 related to fire extinguishing and 29 related to rescue operations. However, there were also ten calls that turned out to be false alarms. This reflects both the busy nature of emergency services in the area and the ongoing challenges faced by firefighters in managing a variety of incidents while ensuring public safety.
