Centralized admission to 24 municipalities' educational institutions starts
A new centralized admission system for educational programs will begin accepting applications from 24 municipalities in Lithuania.
The first phase of a new centralized admission system for educational programs in Lithuania is set to launch, allowing parents to submit applications for enrollment in 24 municipalities through an online platform known as the Centralized Admission to Educational Programs Information System (CPIS). This initiative is being implemented by various municipalities, including Akmenė, Anykščiai, Biržai, and more, starting from March, with other municipalities joining at later stages.
The new system aims to streamline the application process for parents looking to enroll their children in state kindergartens or schools. Applications can be submitted electronically through the Electronic Government Portal, with specific dates for application submission determined by each municipality involved. The system will automate the registration of applications, create student queues, and manage offers for education, ultimately simplifying the enrollment process for families.
This centralized approach reflects a broader effort by the Lithuanian government to modernize and improve accessibility in the education sector. By enabling electronic submissions and automating various aspects of the process, the government seeks to create a more efficient and user-friendly experience for parents and educational institutions alike, thus enhancing the overall quality of education in the country.
