The winter admission to vocational schools is ending
The winter admission period for vocational schools in Lithuania began on February 2, targeting those with secondary education looking to retrain or improve their professional skills.
On February 2, the winter admission process commenced for vocational schools in Lithuania. This initiative aims to provide opportunities for individuals holding secondary education who are interested in retraining or enhancing their vocational skills. Applicants will receive admission invitations on February 11, with contracts to enroll in vocational institutions set to be signed between February 12 and 16. Classes are scheduled to start on February 23.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Sports highlights that vocational training can be undertaken not only in traditional school settings but also through apprenticeship programs. These allow students to learn the theoretical components of their vocational programs at educational institutions while gaining practical experience in real workplaces such as companies, organizations, and farms. The admissions process for vocational schools occurs twice annually, in winter and summer, and this year, the goal is to enroll 20,600 students into vocational education programs.
A significant number of government-funded spots are allocated for programs in engineering, personal services, architecture, construction, and health sectors. This development demonstrates Lithuania's commitment to bolstering vocational education, aligning the skills of the workforce with market demands, and enhancing employability among young people. The dual approach of theoretical and hands-on training aims to create qualified professionals ready for the challenges of the labor market.
