The water supply will be interrupted in various neighborhoods due to an inspection by Cedae on the Guandu system.
Rio+Saneamento announced that the water supply in the West Zone of Rio and the neighborhood of Canto do Rio in Seropédica will be interrupted on Tuesday, due to an internal inspection by Cedae at the Guandu system. This interruption is scheduled to take place from 4 AM to 10 PM, indicating a significant period without water service for residents in these areas.
Affected neighborhoods include Bangu, Barra de Guaratiba, Campo dos Afonsos, and several others, illustrating the extensive impact of this inspection. Residents are advised to prepare for the interruption and manage their water usage responsibly during this period to cope with the temporary loss of service. It is important to note that the restoration of water supply may take up to 72 hours post-inspection, especially in elevated areas and farthest parts of the network.
This situation highlights the ongoing issues related to water management in the region, as residents often face service interruptions. While necessary for maintenance and safety, such inspections underscore the importance of infrastructure improvements and the need for reliable water supply systems in urban areas, impacting daily life for thousands of residents.
