Fake Paneer-Khoya, Adulterated Oil-Dates Destroyed... Action Intensified in UP During Festive Season
The Food Safety Department in Uttar Pradesh has intensified its crackdown on adulterators during the festive season, destroying large quantities of adulterated dairy products and sweets.
In Uttar Pradesh, the Food Safety Department has launched a vigorous campaign against food adulteration in light of the upcoming Holi and Ramadan festivals. This initiative includes extensive raids across various locations, targeting those involved in the production and sale of contaminated food items. Reports indicate significant seizures and destruction of adulterated goods, underscoring the government's commitment to ensuring food safety during important festive periods.
During operations in Kanpur, authorities destroyed 900 kilograms of adulterated khoya, a dairy product essential for many traditional sweets. Furthermore, in Bagpat, 400 kilograms of suspicious mawa (another dairy product) were destroyed using bulldozer action, highlighting the serious measures being undertaken. Such actions are indicative of the state's zero-tolerance policy towards food adulteration, especially when public health could be at risk during festive celebrations.
This crackdown not only aims to secure food safety for the residents of Uttar Pradesh but also sends a strong message to those involved in illegal food practices. As more inspections are expected to be conducted, the overall objective is clear: to protect consumers and maintain the integrity of food quality during festive times where the consumption of sweets and dairy products typically surges.
